Sahanau Bhunaktu = May we nourish
Today’s modern material world thinks, that a child grows because of proteins, carbs and vitamins. This makes us question, “Is that all?  For a child to grow, is food the only factor? ‘.  In our ancient country Bharat (India), we factor in an essential and a more fundamental element that enables a child’s growth. That essential element is “LOVE”.   Right from the childhood, we all experience varieties of love, from our parents, teachers, friends, cousins, grandparents, neighbors and so on. The list is endless.

The family structure is so broad that we constantly enjoy and experience love.
God is love. When we go beyond the world of dualities, when we accept everything as it is, our experience touches the supreme Love.
The beautiful bond of love between a Guru and his disciple, is responsible for the student to grow in the presence of his Guru.

A strong thread of love keeps the siblings together during a lifetime and a husband and wife as soulmates.
Love makes us realize the joy in giving.

All different colors are encompassed in one sunlight and when the sunlight is passed through a prism, it manifests as different colors. In the same way, one single quality of love manifest as various emotions, at different situations. When we see something very beautiful, love manifests as an appreciation or wonder. When we see a child or any baby offspring of an animal, love manifests as vatsalya. When we meet someone elderly or knowledgeable, it manifests as shraddha or deep respect.

We enjoy being in the state of love. In the same way all these aforementioned manifestations of love as various emotions, give us joy and deep inner satisfaction. When love is corrupted by ‘ego’, these joy giving emotions turn into anger hatred, jealousy, greed, etc. Ego also takes away our awareness or ‘prajna’.  Love is life and hatred is death!

In love there is abundance, there is a deep sense of contentment. In love there is health, there is an immense power of touching and evoking others’ heart.
There is no greater yoga than the yoga of heart or yoga of love. Love is the fundamental quality underlying in all other qualities at the transaction level like Honesty, truthfulness, selfless work etc. Love is a living meditation experience! No serious or grim face at any point of time in anybody’s presence!

On this International Yoga day let us resolve that the basic philosophy of YB-Yogabharati is ‘love — smile — laugh — joy — celebration’.  Let us realize that peace, harmony and health which is the logo of IDY is achieved with the approach of love and celebration. Let our conversations, our interactions and our expressions happen this way. This is modern application of Bhakti yoga.

 Let love be YB’s identity!
